I invite you

I invite you to feel at home.
You come with stories etched in silence,
with tears that others wish to see,
with hope hidden in your chest.
Some don’t want you here.
They want to see you go.
They want to see your tears.
They don’t want to hear your story.
They tremble at your presence,
afraid of what they cannot control.
But do not fear.
Here, you are invited to rest.
Here, you are not a stranger.
Your voice may rise without apology,
your laughter may take root in this soil.
This is your land.
This is your home.
You may claim it for yourself.
You belong not because they allow it,
but because you stand,
you breathe,
you live here.
Have no fear.
Here, you are home.
